Chaos Corona 12 Update 2 for 3ds Max 2020 to 2026
Chaos updates Corona 12 with new materials, virtual tour tools, and performance improvements
Chaos has released update 2 for Corona 12. This update introduces technical and workflow improvements, including the integration of Chaos Scans into Chaos Cosmos. Corona Premium users now have access to over 3,100 scanned materials, which can be previewed, customized, and quickly applied to scenes.
A new feature allows for multi-select import from Chaos Cosmos, enabling the download and placement of multiple assets simultaneously. Virtual tour creation is now possible using Auto Hotspots, allowing interactive panorama tours to be generated directly within Corona’s interface without third-party applications.
The update introduces Differential Ray Filtering, which improves texture sharpness through refraction and certain reflections. A Global Volume override per camera has been added, offering control over environmental effects like fog for individual camera views. Improvements to the Depth of Field Highlight Solver improve handling of reflected and refracted highlights.
New LUTs contributed by a community member expand color grading options. Performance improvements include faster parsing in Corona for 3ds Max when using Interactive Rendering, and a new minimap aids navigation in the Node Material Editor for Cinema 4D users. The Corona Converter in Cinema 4D now supports additional V-Ray materials and objects.
Corona now supports Anima 6 for dynamic crowd and vehicle animations and is compatible with Autodesk 3ds Max 2026. Features related to Vantage Live Link include start/stop controls and an upload progress bar.
